User Roles
In LoveInvoice, user roles define what actions users can perform within your business. Understanding these roles helps you manage access and responsibilities effectively.
Available Roles
- Owner: Has full control over the business, including billing and user management.
- Admin: Can manage users, settings, and most business operations, but cannot change ownership or billing details.
- Member: Can access and manage invoices, but has limited administrative capabilities.
- Viewer: Can view invoices and reports but cannot make any changes.
Owner
The Owner role is typically assigned to the person who created the LoveInvoice business account. Owners have the highest level of access and can perform all actions, including:
- Managing billing and subscription settings
- Inviting and removing users
- Changing user roles
Once assigned, the Owner role cannot be changed or removed by other users. If you need to transfer ownership, contact LoveInvoice support.
Admin
Admins have significant control over the business but do not have access to billing information. They can:
- Invite and manage users
- Change user roles (except for Owner)
- Access and manage all invoices and reports
- Configure business settings
Admins are ideal for team leaders or managers who need to oversee operations without handling billing.
Member
Members can create and manage invoices, access reports, and perform day-to-day operations. However, they cannot:
- Invite or manage other users
- Change user roles
Members are suitable for team members who need to work with invoices but do not require administrative privileges.
Viewer
Viewers can only view invoices and reports. They cannot make any changes or access sensitive information. This role is useful for stakeholders who need to monitor business activities without participating in operations.
Assigning and Changing Roles
When inviting a new user, you can assign them a role based on their responsibilities. If you need to change a user's role later, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Users & Permissions section in your dashboard.
- Find the user whose role you want to change.
- Click the dropdown button with their current role and select the new role.
The user will then instantly have the new permissions applied to their account.
