Creating Products
Creating products in LoveInvoice is straightforward and sets you up for efficient invoicing.
Adding a New Product
Navigate to the Products section from the main menu and click "Add Product". You'll need to provide:
- Name - A clear, descriptive name for your product or service
- Description (optional) - Details about what's included or any important notes
- Price - The standard price you charge
- Currency - The currency for this price
Product Names
Choose names that are clear and easy to recognise. Good examples include:
- "Web Design Package - Basic"
- "Monthly Consultation Retainer"
- "Logo Design Service"
- "Standard Hosting Plan"
Avoid vague names like "Service A" or "Product 1" that won't mean much to you or your clients later.
Descriptions
Descriptions help you and your team remember what each product includes. They won't appear on invoices by default, but you can use them for:
- Reminding yourself what's included
- Training team members
- Keeping track of service tiers or package contents
Pricing
Set the standard price for your product. This is the price that will be used when you add the product to an invoice. You can always override this price on individual invoices if needed.
Saving and Editing
Once you've filled in the details, click "Save" to add the product to your library. To edit a product later, find it in your products list and click "Edit". Changes will apply to future invoices but won't affect invoices you've already sent.
Deleting Products
If you no longer need a product, you can delete it from the products list. This won't affect any existing invoices that used the product - those will keep the product details as they were when the invoice was created.
